Thieves fish out items at Miri Handicraft Centre

Amongst the items that went missing were several traditional beads, a passport (belonging to one of the stall owners), cash (including several Brunei dollars).

It was said the suspects used a plastic pressure pipe to fish out the items. According to sources, two unknown men were spotted wandering around the area at 3am.

“A security guard who saw the suspects standing suspiciously at one of the stall’s window shouted at them,” said one of the victims.

They panicked and fled the scene leaving behind four cleavers they had fished out. A police report on the incident has been lodged at Miri centre police station (CPS) the afternoon of the same.
